Valley Bar Mediation Center celebrated its opening on January 22 at the San Fernando Valley Bar Association offices with a Wine Tasting & Mixer.  The Board of Directors and mediators from VBMC’s distinguished panel welcomed more than 60 guests eager to learn more about VBMC’s programming efforts.

Koenig Foundation Renews Grant to VBMC

For the second year, VBMC has received a foundation grant award from The Erich and Della Koenig Foundation. The foundation awarded VBMC a second  grant of $10,000. Last year’s grant supported the launching of the organization’s website and development of its programs. VBMC intends to use the funds this year to launch training programs and educational programs in the wider Los Angeles community. The Erich & Della Koenig Foundation works to advance Education, promote the Arts, Scientific Medical Research and renders assistance to the poor and needy.

VBMC Establishes Partnership with PTSA

Parents, Teachers, Students in Action for Better Schools and Community (PTSA) has established a partnership with Valley Bar Mediation Center to provide peer-to-peer mediation programs for students and parents. PTSA supports children with special education needs and youth at risk. VBMC mediators will offer training programs to parents, teachers and administrators, as well as work with students to enhance conflict resolution skills.

Myer Sankary, President of VBMC and Seymour Amster, President of PTSA establish a partnership between the two non-profit organizations to promote mediation programs for youth.
